픽셀공유展_ ActiveArt X NaAC 협업전시 _in Calgary, Canada
2021년 시작된 캐나다 NaAC와의 교류전은 올해도 계속 됩니다.
한국의 ActiveArt와 캐나다 NaAC는 장애예술인의 발전적인 작품활동을 지지하기 위한 협업전시 프로젝트로 픽셀킴(김현우)의 픽셀공유展을 캐나다 캘거리에서 진행합니다.
픽셀킴은 전시일정 전부터 캐나다 NaAC의 초청으로 현지의 다양한 예술프로그램에 참여하며 아티스트로서 자신의 이야기를 공유하고 많은 사람들에게 영감을 주고 있습니다. ActiveArt는 전시과정을 협업으로 준비하며 한국 아티스트의 작품세계를 캐나다에 소개합니다.
이번 전시는 픽셀킴의 글과 종이드로잉, 캐나다 현지에서 작업한 수학드로잉을 비롯하여 새롭게 실험중인 작품들을 만날 수 있을 것입니다. 또한 전시장에 픽셀킴의 작품 중 일부를 관람객과 공유하는 개념의 워크숍을 진행하며 예술적 가치를 나누는 시간을 준비하고 있습니다.
처음 딛는 걸음은 낯설고, 어렵지만 그 걸음이 반복되면 길이 됩니다.
ActiveArt와 NaAC는 낯설고 어려운 길을 묵묵히 걸어가는 장애예술인과 그의 가족의 헌신을 시대적 가치로 지지하며 감사함을 전합니다.
전시는 캐나다 현지 시간으로 17일 오프닝을 시작으로 20일까지 캐나다 캘거리의 Pioneer에서 진행됩니다.

예술이 아름답다고 느끼는 것은 그 본질에 평등함이 자리잡고 있기 때문입니다.
예술은, 누구든 선택에 따라 그 깊이를 더해갈 수 있고, 그 깊이를 소통할 수 있습니다.
캐나다의 NaAC와 대한민국 ActiveArt의 협업으로 진행되는 픽셀공유展은 한국에서 활동 중인 Pixel Kim의 작품세계 중 일부를 캐나다 캘거리에서 공유하며 가치를 나눕니다.
Pixel Kim은 자신의 일상 속의 요소를 작은 부분으로 해석하고 시각화 합니다. 모든 요소는 하나의 픽셀로 전체의 작품안에 존재하며, 그 전체는 단순한 부분의 총계가 아닌 그 이상의 것으로 재탄생합니다. 또한 그가 작품활동에서 중시하는 일상성은 재료의 선택에 반영되고 작업실에 등장한 모든 사물은 그의 시각을 전하는 매체가 됩니다.
픽셀공유展은 단순히 Pixel Kim의 작품을 감상하는 것에서 그치지 않고, 작가 작품의 일부를 관람객과 나누며 작품활동의 주요가치인 일상성을 공유하는 자리를 준비했습니다.

ActiveArt has culminated in the exhibition Pixel Sharing. Through this exhibition, we are showcasing the works of artist Pixel Kim – here in Calgary, Canada. The sheer notion of being able to transcend boundaries and exhibit Pixel Sharing in this beautiful
country makes it that much more meaningful.
Pixel Kim invites us into his observations and perspectives, which are interpreted in the shape of individual pixels. These pixels, appearing simple at first, represent a rebirth and reactivation of Pixel's stunning observations and perspectives. His practice is
defined by the materials he uses and reflects the environments and conditions in which he creates.
Pixel Sharing is more than an opportunity to observe the works of Pixel Kim. It is an opportunity for visitors to be a part of engaging and sharing in his artistic practice. Through this process of sharing, we move beyond a description of Pixel as an "artist with a disability. "
He is an artist. An artist who demonstrates a commitment and dedication to his
practice that is on par with many contemporary artists of our time.
