전시 노트
우리는 수많은 감정을 느끼며 살아가지만, 현재의 사회는 감정의 표출보다는 억제와 통제를 요구한다.
하지만 머리로 이해하는 것보다 감정을 움직이는 것이 더 큰 울림을 만들어 내는 경우가 종종 있으며, 이는 예술의 세계에도 똑같이 적용된다.
회화, 음악, 문학, 시 등 다양한 분야의 예술은 표현방식이 저마다 다르지만, 그 기저에서는 문자와 언어, 텍스트가 소재로 작용함은 다르지 않다.
이번 기획전
관객은 작품에 표현된 터치, 색채, 단어, 문장이라는 네 가지 단서들의 뉘앙스를 통해 작가의 메시지를 추리하게 되고, 그러한 과정을 통해 작가는 관객의 감정을 자극하여 공감과 소통을 이끌어 내고자 한다.
단서를 찾아가는 과정은 통제하고 억제해야만 했던 감정의 짓누름을 해방하는 과정이며, 곧 감정의 표출을 통한 카타르시스를 느끼는 과정이다.
본 전시를 통해 감정을 통한 소통을 경험하고, 감정의 비워냄을 통해 새로운 감정을 채워갈 여지를 만드는 시간이 되기를 소망해본다.
